I've been tagged, (note to self........learn to run faster, lol), the lovely Jo over at Through the keyhole has set eleven fiendishly probing questions, and I must answer honestly (ho,hum) and to the best of my knowledge.
But first rules must be posted and obeyed.
1/ Post these rules
2/ Answer 11 questions from the person who tagged you
3/ Create 11 questions for the people you tag
4/ Tag 11 people and link them to your post
5/ Let them know you tagged them
I'm a bit of a rebel, and rules were meant to be broken..........so blah to the rules........but I will answer Jo's questions, after all I did coerce her into sock yarn buying, so it's the least I can do....
1/ What is your earliest memory?
Cor blimey Jo........you're asking a menopausal woman here, I can't remember what colour socks I put on this morning unless I look at my feet..............I vaguely remember being about three years old and toddling around under tables at a family gathering and finishing off all the dregs of boozy drinks from any glasses within reach..............apparently my mother informed me that I slept for twelve hours solid and woke up grumpy and out of sorts.......not surprised really!
2/ Who would you hate to be stuck in a lift with?
Now this is easy................my bank manager..............I would not be responsible for my actions.........I'm sure bank managers speak a different language to the rest of us mere mortals.
3/ What is your favourite food?
If you've read my blog for any amount of time you will notice how often I make references to crystallised ginger...........I have been known to eat a 400g bag in one sitting (I may have some sort of problem here)...........and throw in a bag of milky bar white chocolate buttons and I'm in seventh heaven...........what a shocking revelation, I'm duly shamed.
4/ What was the first record you ever bought?
Don't snigger, but I have a feeling it may well have been Benny Hill's 'Ernie (he drove the fastest milkcart in the west)................I'm passionately hoping it was Freda Payne's 'Band of Gold'.
5/ What's the first thing you do when you get out of bed?
Put me false teeth back in (I jest) .....usually I dive straight back in again, if I get the chance............it's blooming cold here in the mornings.........then crawl under the bed among the dust bunnies to find my slippers which I randomly kicked off the night before..........if I'm feeling particularly lazy I send OH under the bed to look for them instead..........he's a love!
6/ What was your first job?
I had a Saturday job at the grand old age of 13 in our local 'Butter Market' on the fruit and veg stall...............on my first day I weighed out ten lbs of apples, (it took me blooming ages) and when I handed all the paper bags full of apples over to the customer she smugly informed me that she had only wanted ten, not ten lbs.....................evil woman had watched me weigh them all out too.
7/ Who is your favourite author?
Agatha Christie.............................I have a burning desire to be Miss Marple, sitting in the lounge of some big posh hotel with one eye on my knitting while solving the mystery of who murdered my bank manager.
8/ If you could go anywhere in the world on holiday, where would it be?
There's no doubt in my mind...............I would buy a 'home from home' campervan (decked out with chintzy floral curtains and cosy crochet blankets) and tour our beautiful country................there are so many wonderful sites still to see and places to visit..................I'm definitely a homebird.
9/ Do you have a party trick?
I can belt out a mean karaoke of 'Ernie-he drove the fastest milkcart in the west', when required...........or there's always my famous 'tea on the knee balancing' trick, seen here.
10/ Will you be watching the 2012 Olympics?
Sadly only from the sidelines, I would have loved to have been a torch bearer but it was not to be..................I shall enjoy watching from the comfort of second best sofa with tea on my knee and knitting in hand............cheering on Blighty!
11/ Do you have any bad habits?
I'm not sure I like this question Jo...........OH would say that he hates that I keep putting the toilet lid down........but then I hate that he keeps leaving it up (why do men do that)..............I suppose OH would also say that I should stop kicking my slippers under the bed at night...............he does not enjoy his early morning belly slide amongst those. dust bunnies.
That's me done then...................being the lazy so and so that I am, I'm not sending this taggy thing on it's merry way...........but of course if any of you lovely readers feel you'd like to reveal a few interesting facts about yourselves then take this tag and do what you will.............yes, go have some fun.
Just to finish, the lovely Alix over at Used To Bees also gave me the award of 'Versatile Blogger'............must be something to do with my knee balancing trick, (no....that's flexible......is there such an award as 'The Flexible Award'..........and if not maybe I should send one out into the blogisphere........imagine the sorts of facts that may be revealed about our fellow bloggers).
Anyway, thank you for the award Alix, very much appreciated, but as I have recieved this award before..........and the fact of me being a lazy so and so, I will direct you to this post here where seven more, hopefully entertaining facts, can be found.
Phew..........I'm exhausted...........pass me that crystallised ginger.

I have one of these out there looming also must do it today I guess but I too am a rule breaker and will not tag back I'm afraid.....love your false teeth and dust bunny slide your Hun does for your slippers my kids do this for me right now...have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo far mine all sit to tinkle, accept for my 16 year old, he's revolted!
Thanks for joining in, Lily. I enjoyed reading your answers and had a little chuckle at some of them. It's ages since I've read an Agatha Christie book, I used to read them all the time in my younger days and really enjoyed them. I agree with you about holidaying in the UK. We travelled abroad just about every year until three years ago when I persuaded Mick to stay in this country, he's a sun worshipper and didn't particularly fancy chancing the weather. We haven't been abroad since. It's Cornwall again for us this year, I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! I think my first memory is of trying to walk around with my shirt off just like my brothers did in the summer. But Mom wouldn't let me for some reason. I am not sure what the difference between my 3 year old brother and my 4 year old self was at the time. LOL!
ReplyDelete'Ernie' was a good song Lily! ;)
ReplyDeleteBeing the same age means that I can relate to so much on your blog. :)
Congrats on your awards!!

Well done.... I laughed and laughed with you on some of your answers.
ReplyDeleteThese awards do get more and more like chain letters! But some of the answers to the questions are hilarious, perhaps we should all do a blog post just headed 10 things you never knew about me.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answers - I feel like I 'know' you better now! ;-)

I don't think I've ever read an Agatha Christie. Shocking, I know. Specially as I love books and reading and bemoan the lack of decent writers these days.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh yes I also want a cozy campervan for touring. Dream of mine.
Oh, lily, you brought a smile to my face yet again. You might be acquiring all the skills and talents to become Miss Marple one day, but if Ernie the Milkman was your first record, I'm guessing you've years to go until you take her place in a hotel foyer.
ReplyDeleteDust bunnies. They get everywhere. We had one under the table that was the exact shape of a rat this week. Beautiful long tail!
Great answers! I loved reading them. I too love Agatha Christie. In fact I could quite happily curl up and read her all afternoon. I have read and re read them all. I also would love to have a floral curtained camper van to tour our lovely country with. There are so many places I would love to go. We are hoping to go to Cornwall for the first time this Spring, I am so excited! Have a lovely weekend xx
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny. Thanks for the giggle. It was great of you to share more of yourself. I have a thing for crystallised ginger too. You can't beat it!
ReplyDeleteTeehee - I did enjoy reading your answers! Sorry to have re-versatiled you - these things can be a nightmare! I will remember your neat linking back to the previous time if I ever get versatiled again! I'd never be able to come up with any more facts about myself!
